Suicide Prevention
Survey: Does your organization require suicide prevention training for all employees? Does your church operate a support group for survivors? Do you distribute Lifeline magnets in your community during your free time? If so, we want to hear about it. The Suicide Prevention Project and the State Advisory Committee are currently attempting to compile a comprehensive listing of any and all suicide prevention efforts in Missouri, regardless of size. Please take a moment to download and complete the brief survey.
FACT SHEET - Suicide is a reaction to intense feelings of loneliness, worthlessness, hopelessness, or depression. Threats or attempts of suicide are calls for help. Helping a Friend?
Many of the resources above can provide information and assistance to those who are seeking help for someone else. You may also want to read "Understanding and Helping the Suicidal Person" from the American Association of Suicidology. The Stop a Suicide, Today website offers additional information that may be helpful, such as the Suicide Risk Questionnaire, a list of what not to do, and what to expect during the evaluation process.
