The Hannibal Regional Center is an agency of the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities (MRDD).  The Division of MRDD was established in 1966 to serve individuals who have mental retardation, cerebral palsy, head injuries, autism, epilepsy and developmental disabilities.

Any individual or their family may contact, without cost, a Hannibal Regional Center intake worker to receive information or to make application for services.  If found eligible for services a service coordinator will be assigned to work with the individual, their family and relevant others to determine an individual support plan.  Residents of Audrain, Lincoln, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Ralls and Warren are eligible to apply for services.

A service coordinator serving the local area will continue to work closely with the individual and family, providing information and seeking services in the community.   The service coordinator also advocates for the person, as well as monitors the frequency and quality of services that are obtained.  Services include, but are not limited to:

  • Service Coordination
  • Respite Care
  • Behavioral and Crisis Intervention
  • Residential Choices and Options
  • Counseling
  • Home Modification and Adaptive Equipment
  • Early Intervention Services
