Quality Health/R.N. Consultant Program

MR-DD Community R.N. Program Trainings

The Quality Health/R.N. Consultant program training is a comprehensive health prevention and health promotion program. It was designed and implemented at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center in 1997 and 1998. The program was designed and implemented to educate support personnel at all levels to ensure quality health care for people supported in the Home and Community Waiver Based Program. The training is required for agency owner/administrators, QMRPs, and R.N. Consultants. The training packet contains standardized health forms and expectations for implementation in the group homes and ISLs contracted with the Poplar Bluff Regional Center.

Registered Nurses consulting with the provider agencies comply with the requirement of delegation and supervision required by the Mo. Nursing Practice Act Chapter 335 RsMo.

The MR-DD Community R.N. Program is the statewide implementation of R.N. oversight for people supported by DMH/MR-DD. The implementation of this program statewide began April 1, 2003.

The Quality Health/R.N.C. Program and MR-DD Community R.N. Program are now combined at the Poplar Bluff Regional Center and will remain a required training as needed by new Home and Community Waiver Based Program providers and Residential Care Facilities with a contract with DMH and placement consumers. The trainings are also required by newly hired Registered Nurses contracting with these providers agencies.
