BRAIN INJURY RESOURCE GROUP was formed to address local issues involving brain injury, and is a chapter of the Brain Injury Association of Missouri. The group's goals include: providing support to the brain injured and their families, increasing awareness that traumatic brain injury changes lives, educating the community that traumatic brain injury is preventable, and working with business and civic leaders to increase services to the brain injured. The group meets the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at Health Point Plaza, 2126 Independence in Cape Girardeau. For more information call the Generation Center at 573-651-5825.

FRESH PERSPECTIVES is a support group for parents, grandparents, and caregivers of special needs children in Stoddard County. They meet the second Thursday of every month from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 704 West Missouri St. (Hwy J) in Bloomfield.
ETHAN AND FRIENDS is a support group for parents of children who have Autism. They meet monthly at St. Francis Hospital. For more information, email James Sciortino at jamessciortino@semo.net.
WASP (We Are Special People) is a support group in Mississippi County for parents of children with special needs. The group was established so parents could have an outlet to express concerns with other parents of children with special needs. The group meets quarterly on the fourth Monday of the month from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Caring Communities, 603 Garfield in East Prairie.
